Hyderabad, the capital city of Telangana, is one of the most diverse cities in India with people from across different states. Food processing has been identified as one of the 14 thrust sectors in the state of Telangana. Telangana blessed with agri and food raw material base is one of the favourite destinations for food processing industries in India.
Telangana is the highest producer of turmeric and sweet orange in the country. It is the second-largest producer of maize and chillies and third-largest producer of eggs and the fourth-largest producer of lemon, mango, grapes and soybean and fifth-largest of meat in India. Telangana is a leading state in fish, poultry and meat production in the country. Telangana has huge potential for inland fisheries to grow 20x from the current level.
There are four food parks in Telangana with 151 acres of ready to use land for food processing industries with plug and play facilities. In addition to these four food parks, Telangana also offers 3000 hectares of developed land with all facilities across the state. The government has reserved 10% of all existing and new water supply for industries, ensuring seamless water supply for enterprises in the state.
